The Pissed Off Farmer finds it interesting that now our government is promoting and allowing imported beef. I can buy a can of tuna and on the bottom of the can it's stamped "Product of Thailand" or "Product of Ghana."
Ranchers and cattlemen have been trying for years to label beef as a product of USA, but to no avail.
Not sure where the resistance comes from. Possibly packer concentration. With that said, new opportunities are opening up with additional small locally owned processing plants.
That's the beauty of the value-added business model where farmers are more closely connected to the customer.
Summary: Sometimes insurmountable obstacles can be "excuses to fail or reasons to succeed".
