The Pissed Off Farmer continues to ask himself, "why does important ag policy never get resolved?"

Now that COOL, E-15, enhanced safety net, and rising fertilizer prices get moved to the "lame duck" session (code for you just got thrown under the bus), and with ag policy in a constant "state of flux"... who benefits? Not the farmer!

However, commodity groups, trade associations, renewable fuels organizations, and livestock representatives reap huge financial benefits by sending the same message year after year: "we're so close."

Then they flood the membership with committee wins, flyin' pictures, etc., followed by increased dues, calls for more members, and keep the checkoff money rolling in.

Summary: in a lame duck session there are no consequences for not solving problems since they are no longer there, but it's time we take a serious look at who's representing us.

I'm pissed.
